FELICE LIMOSANI – VETRINA LUISA VIA ROMA

GIANFRANCO FERRE IS NOT DEAD…THE FASHION SYSTEM IS…
Finally somebody who has the guts to say what he thinks of today’s fashion system… that’s what I thought reading the neon light message of Felice Limosani in the window of Luisaviaroma during Pitti Uomo fashion week.
The system has changed, with bloggers commenting new trends, stylists deciding what will be on the catwalk, consumers unhappy with collections not really made for them but for foreign money making markets, shopping on-line that makes shopping exciting but not really emotionally tactile… and of course a lot of creativity… lost…. not in production… only for fashion schools and competition where companies use young designers for their own brand promotions… it is all very confusing! Let’s face it, where are the sure values of the ‘80’s, the ‘90’s? Are we still believers or do we feel this is the end of a fashion movement and the beginning of a new one with new values, new strategies, new design and new visions. Hopefully it is the last option that we believe in… I believe in…. there is always hope in fashion, and even if the climate change is depressing, fashion must offer us the joy we need to give us some quality of life. Gianfranco Ferré is not dead, Alexander McQueen is… will young designers have the guts and the courage to launch their collections or work for the revival of so many orphan brands? The next decade will be different… very different… let’s give it a chance!
