We have managed to let ourselves be driven away from the true essence of life by believing that everything that is real for others must be real for us.

INSTANT ERA… AN ERA UNDER ANESTHESIA

The collective unconsciousness of the world of fashion has been followed by a cultural thoughtlessness.

Fashion has become more than a simple word, it is a word that has the power to generate movement, a movement that has the power to lead the mass.

Fashion has become a lifestyle, a way of thinking.

This is why we must rethink, not the meaning of the word fashion, but what is being communicated under such premise.

Through out the years we have some how been able to change our solid roots and have managed to embody a liquid state. A state that let’s us change constantly of form but lead’s us to uncertainty. In terms of science, this might be thrilling but in terms of life it’s devastating.

Today people are searching for identity in a moment where there aren’t any solid grounds to stand on and to make things even worse, fashion comes in the picture.

Due to the volatility and instability of modern identities, fashion takes advantage and generates its own ritual called: shopping. Shopping then becomes the easiest way to buy “our identity”, a fake identity that will be replaced the next seasons to come.

How is it possible then to solidify into “something” when your surroundings constantly oblige you to mold and change like a chameleon?

So, perhaps when we undress ourselves, are we taking off more than our clothes: perhaps our identity. Does the act of undressing really leave us bare naked now a days?

It is curious how we have managed to liberate ourselves from old cells only to be naively locked up into new ones; even worse than the ones we had before, by the mere fact that these new cells are invisible to perception; fashion ideals

We inhabit a time in which the product is not being made for the people; instead the people are being molded for the product. The market is the one that now leads our way.

So if this is how it works why don’t we as trend forecasters take action and use it as a way to speak to the crowd truthfully and responsively. Has fashion for once tried to fool us with truthfulness?

We as forecasters must be the origin of action and what better way than trough fashion. Fashion is a small chunk of this immense universe that has the power to lead the mass. So why not use this as a mean to generate a new mentality, mentality that surpasses the physical body and focuses on the inner one…who said we cant dress the spiritual side of ourselves?

This is an attempt to change modern thinking and substitute: “having” for “being” and “being” for “doing”.

The best way to gain freedom is to run, drain, avoid being part of the fictional world sold now a days, a world that lacks reflection, filled with routine and manufactured certainties.

Some may not feel the need of searching beyond what they are given but fortunately there are others that do. Living in a parallel universe prevents, “those” who decided to submerge into a reflection mode, from getting caught by the homogenization wave.

We must go beyond the walls of the obvious and overturning those walls is the job of sociologists, philosophers, poets, musicians and also ours.

Lets try to move our sight from this fictional moment called “reality”, the reality that paralyses any chance of wakening our inner self and lets begin to live our own life guided by intuition and those so “unknown”: marvelous moments of clarity.

The truth that makes us humans free is usually the one we tend to ignore…
