The Fondazione Pitti Discovery has selected Andrea Incontri, the winner of the 2010 edition of “WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO” in the accessories category as the New Performer for Pitti Uomo 79.
The New Performers is a Pitti Discovery program in collaboration with Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze aimed at creating opportunities for new talents in fashion and for those who work with fashion’s “materials” combining fashion with artistic and esthetic disciplines.

“I am very happy about this invitation from Pitti Immagine,“ says Mr. Incontri, “it is a wonderful opportunity to present the new AI_ collection: a concept that develops as mimetic extensions or applications of color, it is meant to be a silent accompaniment or to emphasize the wearer’s attitude. All feelings and emotions are out there, like a palette of materials and colors made of symbols. AI_ wants to be a real, concise and incisive projection of a sort of role playing game where spontaneity wins out over all dictates. Bags and accessories are made of hides such as over-printed natural buffalo to create a “super-texture”, or matte and lacquered brushed calfskin. The shapes continue along the road I have already started on, where function is a necessary element for people who don’t consider a bag a status symbol but really use it day in and day out”.
